How long will my tan last?

Depending on your skin type and personal activities, you may expect your color to last 5 to 7 days, with the proper preparation and maintenance, the color could be extended even longer.  With follow up sessions, you could maintain your tan indefinitely.

Is this sunless tanning safe for pregnant women?

Norvell Sunless Spray Solution is a non-toxic, food grade product. They have NOT received information from any medical authority that would indicate detrimental effects to an expectant mother and they have not heard of anyone being advised not to tan by their physician. However, before you would use any product as a pregnant person, we recommend each client consult with their physician before receiving a DHA tan application.

What is DHA?

The DHA in sunless tanning products is derived from a vegetable source, most likely sugar beets. In the 1970s the Food and Drug Administration added DHA to their list of approved cosmetic ingredients.

Why is it important to exfoliate?

Twenty five percent of skin is exfoliated each week, causing your tan to slowly wear away. Sunless spray affects only the top 25 percent of the skin, so you will want to remove this extra skin prior to tanning.

Will this turn me “orange”?

Avoid using bar soaps, high pH showering products or in-shower moisturizers. These products can halt the DHA bronzing reaction or cause the dreaded “orange effect”. We also provide a pH balance spray directly before your sunless tanning session.

How long should I wait to shower?

We recommend that you wait at least 4 hours before showering or bathing. Bathe with plain water for the first 16 hours after your session to avoid fading or stripping of your instant color. For maximum results we recommend that you sleep in your sunless tan and shower with plain water the next morning.

How often should I book a session?

Book your sessions a minimum of 7 days apart. The reason for this is that you want your skin completely exfoliated and fresh for your next spray to prevent a “build-up”.
